If you’re reading this on the day its published, you should know that it is my birthday! I’ve been at this writing thing for a little over a year at the time of writing and it has been a roller coaster. I’ve had an amount of success in my first year that I didn’t dare to dream of, and I’ve really got only three groups of people to thank.
The first has been the editors, other writers, RPG companies, and clients of various stripes who’ve given me a chance to muck about and create things that they seem to have liked thus far. More than a few have asked me to write more for them, so that certainly seems like a good sign.
Secondly has been my close friends and family – they’ve stuck with me when I didn’t think I was going to. It has meant a lot and I’m not really sure if I’m ever going to find the proper way to thank them. There have been jokes about dedicating works to people because it really feels like one of the few things I can do. They’ve been just amazing and I’m never going to be able to thank them enough.
Then, finally, you, dear reader. You’re the one I need to thank the most. Without you there wouldn’t be any of this. This strange edifice I’ve built is for you. All of this is to help you learn, to entertain you, and to make you think. I would do it even if you weren’t here, just keep hammering away at a keyboard, but you’re the one that lets me take my words and transform them into meals and coffee. And for that, I thank you.
